Accepting our limitations

Helen Keller said, "Life is a banquet and most of us are starving to death." Drinking and using sure kept us from seeing the beauty, the bounty in our lives. Since we recognized that we can't use or drink and got clean and sober - most of us today can get higher than ever before on the important things like justice, peace, and love.

Those of us who seem successful in relationships have at some point learned to accept our shortcomings more than most.

Am I learning to accept my limitations?

Higher Power, help me accept myself today, with all my defects, knowing that in your time I will gradually change for the better.

Thanks for posting this, Pappy. I need to add this to my prayers. I have so many things wrong with me and I tend to beat myself up over them every day. I am harder on myself than anyone else is of me so I am hoping this will be helpful and make me more accepting of me. Hopefully, as I am working the steps at least some of my character defects will go away or not be as bad.

Hey BTY, ... in your post, you soooo remind me of ... ME ... I went through exactly what you are experiencing right now ... 'Prayer' ... Lots of prayer made my path to the AA promises so much easier ...
