Hi All, I'll be heading to the airport Friday morning for a three week trip to Uzbekistan. I still haven't been able to locate any AA meetings or AA members there, but if my schedule allows, I may be able to stop in at an American Hospital in Tashkent and ask if they know of anything. Throughout my sobriety, I've done a fair amount of travel in some pretty exotic places, and it's always great when I find meetings there. But even if I don't, I always have the tools I need to keep my 'daily reprieve' intact. And even if I don't find meetings on this trip, I found this site and all of you folks and I'm glad I did (trying to track down some meetings in Uzbekistan was what originally led me here to M.I.P. during some internet searches a few weeks ago).
My access to the internet will likely be very hit-or-miss throughout the trip, but if I get the opportunity I'll see if I can post some comments to you guys during the trip. If not, I'll be back in about three weeks.

I wish you a happy and 'safe' trip Dave ... ... ...
I have not had the opportunity, due to family issues and conditions, to travel very far from home, just state to state here in the U.S. ... And, when I do, I haven't had to look too hard to find other alcoholics ... I'm sure you are resourceful enough to find some friends during your travels that you can 'relate' to ...
May God be with you and watch over you during your trip, Pappy
