4 Years ago today...I got down on my knees and said the alcoholic prayer, "GOD PLEASE HELP ME". He guided me to get in touch with a friend, who introduced me to a friend, who introduced me to the Steps of AA. I started doing some work for the first time and haven't had a drink since. I have not been to jail (yet), no DUI (yet), no jobs lost (yet), and no alcohol related accidents (yet). TODAY, by living the spiritual solution gratefully, I hope to never have to experience the "YETS".
Stay grateful and have a grateful day!

Ah yes, the 'yets' ... ... ... unfortunately, I did go back to doing things my way after being introduced to AA ... and those 'yets' that you mentioned above ??? ... yep, each and everyone you listed came true for me ... I DID go to jail for 4 days, I DID get a DUI, I DID lose several jobs, I DID cut off a piece of my finger while drinking and got 2nd degree burns from boiling water and I totalled my truck and I pinched a nerve in my right arm rendering it useless for nearly a year and so on and so on ...
I'm here to tell ya, if you chose to stay sick like I did, those 'YETS' WILL catch up with you ... ... ...
Thanks for your post John ... AND a big congrats on 4 years ... ... ...
Love ya man and God Bless, Pappy

Thanks for all the "Thanks"! I totally forget I posted this yesterday and just came back to it! I appreciate those who came before me and showed me the way of sobriety!

Congrats!!!! I could identify with much of your post. The alcohol related accident was the "YET" that brought me in and woke me up to how big a problem I had. The other things had not happened...."yet."...and it was not much more than 4 years ago also..
