and I'm smiling. My wife told me tonight that her eldest son called and announced his 24 year clean and sober which just makes me smile out loud. When my wife and I met in program and on our first sit down at her home where I was gonna be fed mexican style soft tacos (it wasn't force fed that's for sure) J was walking out the door with a friend and after a mutual greeting he stopped at the door and said "Hey Jerry, Mom tells me that you have 9 years sober in AA" and I said yes. He then asked me "How'd you do that"? and I told him..."I discovered that there was no law that said I had to drink". He stumbled on that a bit and I repeated it again. His friend was trying to get him out of the house and J told him "No you go ahead. I'm going to stay here". Little did I know that they were on their way to drink and use for the weekend and so he came to the table...kept his hands off the soft tacos and we talked. That was the last night he ever would think of drinking and using. He called to say thanks. I gave away what I was given and his story goes on. His wife has been clean and sober for a long period of time. Like my wife and I they met and married in program. Today they are abided by an angel of a granddaughter, Ruby Blue and God works in mysterious ways when we work it HUH? I love miracles. (((hugs)))
Just with a fast count? The four of us have about or more than 100 years of clean and sober time...Were blessed.
