Tom, my wife and I are going through the same process, only you're a step ahead of us ... we moved to Georgia 11 years ago ... our oldest son is 'mentally handicap' and requires full time adult care, which is in Tenn. (we do make the trip to see him once a month and holidays and have for all this time) ... AND, since our move down here, our youngest son became quadriplegic, so we have increased our trips up there this past 4 years to tend to his needs ...
Well, we've been praying that somehow we would find a way to move back, cause it's become quite a strain for us ... my wife is so near retirement that she had to keep her job (a good one) ... Well, long story short, she got a notice 2 weeks ago that she's being transferred to Nashville, where it's close to our kids ... so our prayers were answered, it just took a while ... I figure like Angell said, God knew when the time would be right for us ... and it is happening, and thank the Lord ...
So, moving??? ... wow, what a big pill to swallow ... how in the world do people accumulate so much stuff ??? ... I rented a 15X20 storage space and it's just about full and I have a lot more to move into it ... and this is just to 'unclutter' the house so as to put it on the market ... AND, I've been house shopping on the Internet ... the key is to get me and the wife in Nashville at the same time to go look at houses, yippee ... ... ... I get to try and find something we 'both' like, at a price that we can afford ...
We don't need prayers for anything financially, but for sure we need them just for us to maintain our 'sanity' through all this, ... LOL ... ... ... I've moved some really heavy stuff this last few days and my 'old thinking' was playing tricks on me ... I did think at one point late in the day, wow, a beer would go down real good right about now, to cap off a good day ... Man, I can't believe that thought snuck up on me like that ... good thing I had 'water' on ice in my truck ... and that was wonderful going down ... so I got my thinking steered away to something else, and told God I was grateful for a sober day before going to bed ...
I feel for you Tom, I just can't reach ya ... LOL
Love ya and God Bless, Pappy

My wife and I have been agonizing over moving the family closer to my work. The kids are 11 and 13, and it is tough moving. My wife and I made a lot of military moves over the years, and had settled into my current house for 10 years. We have made a lot of friends here in South Carolina, but if I move to Fla, I can save on a lot of commuting expenses and get 60 to 70 hours a month more with my family. I have been commuting for 15 years. This has been to keep the family in one stable spot. Now that I am working out of Florida, it just makes sense to move. It took a bit with my wife, but she has finally gotten interested and we found a perfect house. Of course it is always a nail biting experience, but as the bidding and counter bidding has unfolded, I have had to simply "Give it to God" a number of times and I have felt a great sense of peace knowing that all would well no matter how the negotiations went. I simply have faith that what is meant to be will be. We got great news today and the contract has been ratified. Now we just need to qualify for the loan!!! I am leaving that in my HP's hands as well, but I sure hope He thinks this is the right house for us! Anyhow, send a few prayers our way for the loan to go through! By the way, this post was inspired by Angell's recent post about faith. I thought of it often over the last few days.

Anyhow, send a few prayers our way for the loan to go through!
I'm reminded of an episode of the original Star Trek. Spock, for those who are familiar with the characters, was playing chess against the ship's computer while Captain Kirk was facing serious charges based on the ship's computer log. As a third character walked in to where Spock was playing chess, Spock announced that he had just beaten the computer three games in a row. The doctor (I believe) was indignant that Spock would be playing a game while the Captain was in such trouble and even moreso that Spock was announcing his wins as if this was important. But Spock cleared it up nicely when he said, "The computer does not make a mistake. Therefore, I should, if I make no errors, only succeed in getting a draw. The fact that I have won indicates that something is wrong with the computer."
I think the same way about my higher power. My higher power does not make mistakes. Too, my higher power only wishes the best for me. Therefore, when I pray for something specific, the best I can do is draw. The best I can do is to ask for exactly what my higher power has in plan for me anyway - anything less and I shortchange myself. With that in mind, I shall hope that your will is aligned with your higher powers so that your specific wishes come true...but I shall trust that if the loan doesn't come through that you higher power has even better plans for you.
Good for you Tom. And if they don't sign the paper in the way you want - you could always try blowing an air horn at them until they decide to change their mind in your favor ; )

Thanks for everything. Peace and Love on your journey.
Those are two moving posts. Pappy, I will pray for all to go smoothly for you, and it is amazing to me still how God answers prayers! Your plate is full compared to what I am grousing about. It sounds like you have the right frame of mind. Angell, I agree. If it all falls through, I will believe it is right for me.

There was a point in the negotiations where I was reaching into my attache case to pull out the horn, but my wife saw what was happening and closed the case. I am glad now she did.
