If you can ignore a friend's limited education and never correct him or her,
If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend,
If you can face the world without lies and deceit,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor,
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,
If you can honestly say that deep in your heart you have no prejudice against creed, colour, religion, gender preference, or politics,
--Then you have almost reached the same level of spiritual development as your dog!

My dog is on a very high spiritual plane, ... she listens to me discuss my thoughts day in and day out ... she doesn't complain, well, unless I go to a meeting without her, and she expresses her gratitude constantly ... though occasionally she gives me the 'are you serious?' look, she still loves me and expresses that love often ... she must be well connected 'spiritually' cause she can sleep in peace and comfort nearly all day long ... nothing seems to bother her, not even the door bell ... LOL
