Hi Sydney,

Welcome to the MIP board!

We do have some online meetings listed at the top of the message board page. The fellowship board that you are on now is the most active area. There are many sober people here who can help you with some day to day questions and support you in recovery.

Not sure where you are in recovery or what you currently have, but here is a link to the AA Big book online which is our basic text and helps to explain our disease and recovery.

You can hopefully find some local f2f meetings, get some contacts and a sponsor to help you in recovery.

I saw this early last night, but had to leave immediately for a controlled 'sleep study' ... Sorry I didn't have time to respond then ...

I gave suggestions for this in your other post but I'll briefly re-state my thoughts ... Since the AA program is the 'original 12 step' guide, you'll find it explained in detail in the Alcoholics Anonymous big book ... that, and the book called 'Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions' are the two books you cannot do without ... they start you on your journey of recovery and it is definitely necessary, in my opinion, to go to regular AA meetings ... they can easily be found in your area on the internet ... just search 'AA meetings', type in your zip code or city, state ...

You can usually purchase these books at your local AA meeting for 'cost' ... or if you were here, we, or I, would make sure you had a BB(big book) free ... I have no problem buying it for someone who wants to stop drinking, but cannot afford the book ($8 or $9 bucks, give or take) ...

Going to meetings and 'listening' is a top priority for you right now ... soon, you'll want to choose a sponsor, to help guide you through the steps ... they'll give you their phone number and it is important to maintain daily contact with them at first ... they can help you get rid of the 'cravings' that are sure to come for the next little while ... (carrying candy with you for a while will help ... alcohol has a lot of sugar in it, so the candy can replace that for a while when the cravings get to you) ...

Glad you're her ...

Love you and God Bless,

Pappy
