What I've Learned about Sobriety...So Far!

Coming up on 27 years of continuous sobriety...thank you AA for helping me find a God who has blessed me by removing the obsession of the mind ONLY by working the steps of this beautiful program of living. The first thing I learned was that, just because I'm powerless does NOT make me helpless! Additionally, just knowing what my problem is does NOT solve it (just like knowing my arm is broken does not make it any better) and, my sobriety does not depend on how I feel today. At a meeting one day, I watched as a newcomer volunteered to read a portion of Chapter 5. Still shaking he read, "We admitted that we were powerless - that our lives had become...unimaginable!" I talked to him after the meeting and suggested that he was in the right place!

Warmest regards to all.

Doing good Russell .

I have learned a lot of that too , my sobriety date is 11Aug 86 .

One of my biggest lessons . We DON"T get time off for good behavior .

Yes OUR disease is doing push-ups , waiting for us to let our guard down .

On a military forum I am on , a friend has 20mths up , he said he has "Smith & Wilson"

insurance . I replied Great insurance Co . I remember when he announced he had One day.
