On occasion, I am reminded of the awesome 'power' greater than me ... I'm still at the kid's house in Nashville and yesterday at 4:30 a.m., a storm rolled in ... I scrambled to the coffee pot to get some coffee going before we lost power, which we did later ... what woke me was the shaking of the house, literally felt like a 4 or 5 on the 'Richter' scale when the thunder let us know that a presence greater than us had arrived ...
Shortly after getting my coffee, I went to the front porch to watch the biggest 'fireworks' show I'd ever seen ... the dogs were in 'panic' mode, but I wanted to witness this power first hand ... one after the other, displays of bright white flashes of light and close, deafening, thunder came ... I found myself having lifted my feet off the concrete porch as I sat on a plastic chair with a cushion ... I laughed at myself later, thinking this would protect me from a direct hit, ... LOL ...
We did lose power for a while and the computer got hit along with the neighbors, two of them, knocked out their security lights (one blew up and the other one stays on all the time now ...) ...
I can't explain it, but i had no fear ... I mean I found myself saying 'Wow Papa (God), THAT was a big one, let's see another' ... ... ... this continued almost non-stop for over a half an hour ... this truly made me feel insignificant in the grand scheme of things ... I felt like, wow, I can't come close to having that kind of power ... then I thought, oh man, what I just witnessed was just a drop in the bucket compared to the creation of the Universe ... ... ...
I know what I saw and what I felt, and I'm here to tell you that I'm a sober proof positive of the 'Glory of God' in every sense of the word ... ... ... and it is my wish that everyone be able to experience this same power ... a power so awesome it can remove the 'desire' to drink from a once 'hopeless' alcoholic .... ... ...

Makes the coffee taste even better huh? I've seen that power at a distance and then drove into it...have made an amend on it and chances are won't do that to myself ever ever ever again.
