True story (well it is an honest programme)

I got sober in Callen Park Psychiatric hospital in Sydney Australia 1986.

about a year later , the patients of ward 3 & 5 - ward 3 & 5 was the Drug & Alcohol

related Brain damage wards , ward 4 was th tuff nuts , ward 6 Korsikoffs.

Well these bloke started the meeting & called it th Orangegrove - after the hotel ,

across the road from the wards .

Well one afternoon , one of the patients signed out to go to an outside meeting .

Well he gets side-tracked & goes to the Hotel .

He orders a beer , walks over & puts it on the window-shelf , goes bact to th bar

& orders another beer , he takes it over , looking out th window & starts to drink .

Finishes , goes & gets another one , & another , after th 3rd one the bartender is

curious . He asks this guy when his mate is going to arrive to drink his beer ,

after-al it must be flat by now .

 The bloke replies .

Oh no I am not drinking with anyone . I am a patient in the hospital across the road .

I am in AA . They told me it was the 1st drink that does the damage .

I am Not going to touch that one .

Only an Alkie thinks like that.
