Thanks for this post - I spend about 150-200 dollars a week on going to meetings between gas from driving (I live in the country) and babysitters. I clean people's houses to pay for it, and when I'm on my hands and knee's scrubbing, I really feel like I'm working for my sobriety. Not going to be able to do it much longer cuz my back is so shot, but today I can... so I'm just focusing on today I guess.

how I could afford to drink...The last while it was borrow from Paul to pay Peter..then it was borrow from Hank to pay Paul....then it was borrow from Tom to pay..Peter....

Jeee sus....

Now that Im sober....theres noone to borrow from.....and its gonna take some lookin up....to get through some days...wondering where the next buck is comming from..

I used to be able to handle it all drinking...

I just bullshitted someone.....and lied about why I needed it...

Pretty hard to do...when rigorous honesty prevails...hu

Its 44 days and Truck on!

Still breathin :)

Congrats on 44 days!! I'm so glad you posted this today... I'm in a similar boat. My rent hasn't been on time for months. I have none of this months rent at the moment because I spent my only $ on a bus pass and groceries... I'm afraid my landlords patience will soon run out and she can ask me to leave at any moment. My boss has cut my shifts even though I've spoken to her and she claims to be happy with my job performance. It's very scary!! This is the same financial situation I was in consistently while drinking- so now I've worked my ass off for close to a year to be a good, decent, honest person and Im in a real bind $$ wise. BUT I'm sober, and praying my HP will lead me in the right direction. I can't imagine that HP wanting me to be sober and homeless. We shall see, right Phil? One day at a time :) thanks for listening!

They stayed sober...but I lost track of them..

Now living in California..I believe...

Im keeping my eyes out for a rich little old lady... bout 90....thats looking for a pool man and gardener :)

What's wrong with traditional employment?

Congrats on 44 days Philip ...

as far the means to live, if your heart is right with the man upstairs, He/She will provide for you ... John, the owner of this web site went through a tough time not that long ago, but his heart and soul was in working the program by staying 'God conscious' among other ways ... within days of his dilemma, the work came and he was able to pay for, or barter for, the charges he had to pay on his Vet bill for his sick dog ...

I could site some passages from the Good Book that talk about the lilies of the field and who feeds the birds and such, but I'll leave it at that for now ... thanks for your post ...

Yupper....

Ive known John ever since he started this website...I thing there were about 5 of us...for quite a while..and Ive watched him go through a lot of downers...with life....and come back out on top..

Truly an inspiration...

You hear me John Boy?? :)

I can also remember...when I was going through Luekemia...a number of years ago....and one day? just wanted to give up...

Never answered the phone...never answered an email...just gave up..

A guy from this board in New York State...tracked the town that I lived in...through this board...and called the police there..

They in turn ...banged on my door to see if I was ok...

Its a WE THING....and a GOD thing...
