I know you do not know how to respond to me. You do not know me.
Our responses may vary, but believe me, we know you ... if you're an alcoholic like us, we probably know you better than you do yourself ... We are more than willing to help yoI u with any issue you can possibly be experiencing right now ... depending on your alcohol and/or drug usage, your 'detox' make take some time (usually about a week), and you may need to consult a doctor to help with the DT's ... ... ... you can DIE while detoxing, so be carefull ...
Let us know what stage you're in at any given time and we'll coach you on the next step ...
I understand what you are saying. I appreciate your response. I am 24+ hrs sober, no illicit or legal drugs involved. :)

Hey PP, we're alike ... accepting you is like accepting myself ...
Sounds like you've worked the 1st step already, you do admit that you have a problem with alcohol and that your life has become unmanageable ??? ... if so you're in the right spot ...
P.S. Your avatar is beautiful ... one of your photos ???

My sponsor told me, ... when you know that you know, you'll never know ... ... ... but when you begin to do the things we suggest you do then you'll begin know ...
He said I know what your problem is ... I said what's my problem? ... he said it's your thinking ... I said what about my thinking? ... he said its wrong ... I ask how much of it is wrong ? ... he said we always start with 'all of it' ...
How much AA time do you have in your past, if any ... are you starting from ground 'zero' with respect to AA's program of recovery??? ...

A 'real life' meeting? No. Where I am at there are not meetings I am used to. I went to meetings in Chaska, MN I live in Palm Harbor Fl. Different type of people
Welcome to MIP PP, ... ... glad you're here ... sounds like it is time to make a decision ... you going to go our 'way of life' or 'your way of life' ... ???
My 'way of life' simply didn't work ... I kept getting worse and worse ... but AA's 'way of life' gave me freedom to live a rewarding life again ... hope you decide to stick it out with us ... we'll help you the best we know how ... stick with the 'winners' ... ... ...
Love ya and God Bless, Pappy

Again, ... you can suffer a stroke, and or seizures during the detox period ... with medical attention, they can help soften the pain and cravings ... withdrawal is a real bitch and can be deadly ...
We want you to stick around with us ...

All the more reason to 'detox' under a doctor's supervision ... ... ... like I said, I don't have any idea of your daily quantities of alcohol ... I know mine was very high ... and detoxing was the most painful and miserable time of my life ... but I'm glad I did it and got into AA ... I would NOT be alive today if it were not for AA and it's program of recovery ... and that is a fact ...

Hey Dori. I'm glad you found us. You say you were sober 15 years, so you know how this works you're not going into it without a clue. you stumbled pick yourself up dust yourself off and start over with the first step. This disease doesn't discriminate no matter how long we've been sober we are all just one drink or one bad thought away from a drunk. We get a daily reprieve based on our spiritual condition. Alcohol is cunning, baffling and powerful. My God has more power but only helps me when my will doesn't get in the way. Every morning I ask hime to help me through another day then I help him to help me. Every morning I have a choice to make, is today the day I take another drink or do I do what works again like I did yesterday and stay sober. My best thinking got me drunk and kept me that way. My sponsor told me there is a chapter in the big book called into action there is not one called into thinking. Thinking too much isn't a good thing for me to do to often. My old alcoholic mind always thinks drinking will work if I just keep at it until I get it right. Problem is I never could get it right. Every day when I woke up I made a decision to take a drink and every decision I made after that was wrong. So now I don't think so much I just do what I know works.

True that, ... I've always said in the meetings that one thing I definitely learned in these rooms was the fact that I see things in life now I never knew existed ... it's all part of the learning process ...

I realize that Pride got in my way. Me thinking that I don't need any help. I can do things myself. After I got offline last night I was watching my Guinea Pigs doing their 'piggy' things. I realized that they need me. So that means that I need others.
And you are right Bob K. My brain gets in the way quite often. I think my way out of action.
