April 7, 1941 -  Ruth Hock reported there were 1,500 letters asking for help as a result of the March 31, 1941  Saturday Evening Post Article by Jack Alexander.

It was not until the Jack Anderson piece in the SEP that AA got some national awareness. Without that article, it would have been a different story . . .
