Selfishness-self-centeredness! That, we think, is the root of our troubles.
I'm very happy to say i'm on day Seven, I had a small craving to drink something yesterday for no paticular reason, but instead I called my sponser and talked to her about work, which completely got my mind off things.
i've been hitting the gym, and really focusing on my art business.
I even dodged my drinking friends on wednesday, whom called me yesterday to tell me he was tired because the night didn't end until 4am, I woke up at 7am fresh and working.
I have to go out with a friend tonight but i'm going to just suggest to him coffee, and if he doesn't want to do that its fine I won't go out with him.
All and all , my body is feeling much better, just a little sore from the gym. My brain is so much clearer its amazing!
Also I wanted to thank this board, I've found it a nice safe haven.

7 days without drinking is good. Keep it up.
Stay out of slippery placesis the advice I remember in a situation like this. It's good advice.

At day 7, you should basically be done with detox. You never have to go through that again if you work your AA program. At 7 days I was already laid out in terms of a meeting schedule and a meeting I could find on each day of the week and that I planned on going to. I also had a sponsor at day 7 but I know I was kind of early than most on that one. Just letting you know what worked for me. Keep it up!

Keep coming back. It works if you work it. So work it. You're worth it!
7 days was huge to me ... ... ... you know what works and was doesn't ... so just do what works ... ... ... We've worn the same shoes you have on right now ...

Day 9 now - on your way to 2 weeks. Before you know it, you'll be getting your 30 day chip! Make sure you can get it somewhere where other people can see you and that the program works! This isn't just about you anymore, however - SUPER PROUD OF YOU!
Find out what the old timers are up to, and how they act and what they do - and then start to act as if you are one. That's what I was told, and that's what's been working for me.

Thanks for everything. Peace and Love on your journey.
Thanks @justadrunk, i'm feeling great, hitting the gym twice a day to burn off all the energy i got. Yeah i'm pretty exctied to have gotten this far. Also dealing with the peer pressure has gotten easier. My friends have given up on bugging me too which is fantastic.
Don't try to change too many things at one time Mandm ... ... ... 'Take It Easy' ... ... ... we can be easily 'overwhelmed' in the beginning ... I know your excited about your new-found sobriety, but never forget, we just take things one day at a time ... 1 year, 5 years, 10 years sobriety doesn't happen overnite ... ... ...
