Let's see, ... you were around yesterday, and you didn't drink and get drunk .... you did what you wanted to do and you didn't drink ... you received the power you needed yesterday for that to happen ... did that make you sick, yesterday? ...
Just what is it that is sooooo very different today ??? ... old way of thinking creeping back in??? ... if you did the same thing today that you did yesterday, and you DIDN'T drink ... is that not what you wanted ??? ... isn't that the way you wanted things to work out?
sounds a little like you want everything to work out okay, AND for that to mean, that you can still take a drink on occasion ... We have a lot more to learn, my dear ...

Ok its tantrum time.
Powerless, powerless, powerless I'm so sick of powerless!!!! Will there ever be a time where things will work out how Ild like it to? Just for this once.....
Tracey
Powerless over ALCOHOL! Acceptable. Powerless over EVERYTHING? Unacceptable, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Is the source of your tantrum the result of you getting "But you're powerless!" as the reply from your dilemna each and every effing time? Then I know exactly how you feel! And, yeah, this "didn't turn out the way I planned" jazz is infuriating, too! Just remember, it's only ALCOHOL that you have no power over! Don't fall for the "powerless over everything" meme! IT DOESN'T WORK!
Thanks you guys. You crack me up.
No its not about drinking. It was about wanting to control my hubby.
Amazing the difference a couple of hours can make. I've calmed down now after chatting to a friend. Thank goodness for facebook lol

is the problem really powerless? ya may want to chack ou the story,"doctor, alcoholic, addict." it has helped me tremendously with personal relationships. that, plus working the steps. ya know, like seeing i was not good at runnin the show( rather insane to do the same thing over and over expecting different results when i know the results will be the same), stop being the director( like i know better than God what is good for others), then lookin in the mirror, then admitting to God, myself, and another human the exact nature of my wrongs, then want those defects removed, hten ask God to remove them, then find out who ive hurt, them make amends, then keep lookin in the mirror at myself, then ask God for guidance and shut up and listen, then carry the message and practice these principles in all my affairs.
See to it that your relationship with Him is right, and great events will come to pass for you and countless others. This is the Great Fact for us.
Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny
God as director has always been an anathema to me. Let me clarify: back when the Big Book was written, movies were still relatively new and stage show not acsessible to many, so many assumed that the director was the guy in charge. WRONG! The PRODUCER's the guy in charge. He' s the one that puts all the resources forward. He's the one that says "Here's the stuff, now make something good!" I don't like to think of god as directing things, because if he is, he's making some pretty sick stuff! (just turn on the news...)
God's 'plan' is laid out before us ... but instead of Him/Her directing the show ... He/She gave us something called 'free will' (freedom) ... we are not 'forced' to do God's bidding ... it's a choice ...else where would the 'love' be? ... you cannot force 'love' ... else it would have no value ... ... ...
Be very careful before you judge the reason the 'news' is as it is ... ... ...
