okay, I whined about the pump on the pressure washer, about the fuel pump on the truck, about my dog needing to go to the vet... not being able to get ahead, that I "Can't get a break"....
Well, we have had such good weather here the past two or three weeks that I have busted ass trying to get work lined up, done and pay bills... and as you already know from my other post, nothing went right... and now it's cold as hell outside (40's) and its f*ckin' snowing!
To many people this is just a normal winter thing, but here in Wilmington, NC... my gawh, if they think its going to snow, they shut down the whole city because it happens so rarely that they don't have any snow removal equipment and no one here knows how to drive in it.
People don't get their homes pressure washed if they think the water that is used is going to freeze on their house! LOL
A customer I was suppose to do some pressure washing for tomorrow called to cancel because it's snowing this evening! I acted like I understood their concerns about my well being, that they didn't want me to expose myself to this cold, snowy weather and end up sick.. but in reality, I know I would look like a nut if I really said what was on my mind..."I would rather be sick in a warm home with electricity, than sitting in the dark feeling well, because I don't have enough to pay my electric bill on Monday!!" I did tell them that we could wait and see what tomorrow's weather is like before making a decision on doing the work, but they are like stuck on the damn weather radar.."nah, tomorrow isn't going to be any better, we'll just have you do it next week when the weather is better".
The damn snow here doesn't even stick to the ground! It melts as it's coming down or as soon as it hits the ground! Once in 15 years I have seen snow stick here and we got a whopping 3 inches!
I'm doing all I can, and I'm getting very discouraged that any real break is forthcoming any time soon.
God, buddy, we have to have another conversation tonight, and I know that you know...I"m not in very good spirits!
