I know a few folks here I think, looking forward to getting to know more..
I'm an older Canadian sober drunk (L.D. July 18, 1989) who finds winter more uncomfortable as the years go on.
It's nice and warm sitting by the computer attending a virtual meeting when I'm not at a F2F meetings around here, or with the granddaughters.
I'm retired now and have the opportunity to go to 5-6 meetings a week and I take that opportunity.
About 15 yrs ago I heard a priest in AA talk about his recovery, he was about 20 yrs sober at the time. He said that in Alcoholics Anonymous that he had asked himself 2 important questions over the years:.... 1) In the beginning, he asked himself if he really wanted to get sober. The answer was "Yes" 2) About 10 yrs into AA he asked himself "How well do I want to get?"
I haven't entertained the thought of a drink for decades but sometimes I'm not too "well".. my life is unmanageable .
All the best.
