The steps dont fail. People fail the steps. BUT there are people ALWAYS waiting at the entrance, to give you your ticket to ride the Primrose Path Express.. On the path you will receive a lot of applause.. good effort.. but they dont really know, they cant possibly know.. How can they know ones successes or ones failures.. thats why its the primrose express.. most alcoholics are sympathetic to the core.. making it easy on ones journey down the path. The AA program, if you are to make it, demands rigorous honesty Only YOU can evaluateWhy cant alcoholics just accept failure and go back to the drawing board and learn something from their failure. not whining about it. How it works has the recovering alcoholic clockedlooking for the easier softer way.. Thats a cut off to the primrose pathI had to accept failure many times on the 8 years of training to become an Architect.. Thats what going back to the drawing board is all about. One needs to be tough honest and determined.(in anything worthwhile)

If you are drilling a well for water and you drill 100 ft and come up with nothing.regardless of all the work you have doneyou have failed. Primrose people will say stop you did enough and applaud your effort, ones effort of failure.. but if you know there is water there, and it isjust keep drilling.. another 10 ft you might hit pay dirt and successyou dont need the applause you will feel it in our heart...success,,Dont go down the primrose path looking for sympathy .or applause To Thine Own Self Be True.. Dont tell God you loath yourselfGod will tell you.. I dont make junkCome back when you have something to say.to ask me for..

One needs to see that they did the best they could under life circumstances as a drunkthey made bad choices because they were frightened.. now they have found God.. NO MORE FEAR NOW I WALK WITH GODthats the point of emotional release..you then CAN forgive yourself, you couldnt do any better..but now you see you ask forgiveness from Godand you have a cup of tea with your sponsor.. and move on.

You don't loath yourself ..maybe your actions as a sick alcoholic...But God makes no junk...Get that through your head.

The end of the primrose path is out the door of AA...many cruise right on out..looking for something else..looking for an easier softer way.

Thats why the hymn "Amazing Grace"  is so powerful... the third step The point needed for conversion.. NOW I SEE Its not about things you did..the specifics.. its NOW I SEE.. I'm sorry...I was a drunk..but now I see.

I've been there and back..that's how I know.. There is a lot more to 39 years of sobriety than two numerals
