For every successful person there is a 1st step. The 1st step always begins with powerlessness and unmanageability.
One may say, but that is weak. Yes it is from the human perspective, but not from God's.
He made us weak so that we may be strong in Him.
Imagine having a strong 2 year old son, who knows everything and has the knowledge of a 20 year old. What would you do with such a child? That's how we are in God's eyes.
AA's 12 steps is not rocket science, but the best metaphysical science there is, and it was put together by weak people who relied on God's strength.
