New to these boards. Working a traditional 12-step program with a book a friend of mine recommended. They seem to be working well together. The book is a nice supplement that's really helped me get alot stronger (I've been working twelve step for a while but kept having relapses), not sure if anyone's heard of it. Anyone have any other suggestions?
Suggestions ??? ... Absolutely ... get yourself to an AA meeting ASAP ... it will compliment the book you're using now ... and it will give you a sense of confidence to see other alcoholics getting better ... Face-to-Face (f2f) meetings are crucial to one's recovery the way I see it ... also, get a sponsor who can sit with you 'one-on-one' and help guide you through the steps ...
Many of us here on this board have tried many other way to get and stay sober, and for most of us nothing else but working the steps as laid out in the AA Big Book worked ... there are a lot of 'spin-off' 12 step programs ... why not work with the 'original' by going to meetings and seeing for yourself how it works in others ??? ...
Love ya man and God Bless, Pappy

If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it. I'll stop playing G-d and use the original 12 that have worked so well for so many....working those means meetings and fellowship and a sponsor...amongst other things...
