I got so angry at my home group meeting one of my really really good friends whos like a mother figure to me also lead my homegroup...Theres someone who i kinda had a crush on HAD i sat at the table with her and the whole freaking time she was talking mad shit about my freind who was leading..making fun of her and makeing little jokes saying on that person looks better than so and so..and just talking mad crap wtf? And i was getting a little uncorftable havent really talked to her latley..Nor did i tell my good freind who was leading...The person who was talkings hit lets call her Jane doe.. was just bashing her and being so disruptive during the lead..i almost said something but i probably would of said and done something i regret..Thats just stupid..thats not what the program is about seriouslly me and my sponser were just so irratated and uncofortable cause the one leading was my sponsers first sponser.It was just so immature and childish and jane doe bene sober for quite a while now. my freind thatw as leading went and hugged jane doe and jane doe acted like her best freind and everything then as soon as she walked away started talking shit about her agian..but we did say that jane doe was a really good freind of ours and we love her to death and all that and the person talking shit was like who you talking about jane doe..and i said yeah shes a really really good freind of ours...we look up to her alot...and she stopped me from relapsing at 3 in the morning..then she got all quite which was funny..then after the lead there was about 10 11 comments shes very popular in the program she works it really well and she does so much for everyone and anyone....but once the lead was over the one talking shit ran over to another person who i went to high school with and started talking even more shit...Which made me even more madder..is that a word? ha ha ha but overall my freind lead really good after the meeting everyone an up to her and told her how much they inspired her and all that. I just really dont apprichate people doing that ya know...all i got to do is pray for her. Just needed to vent..K 5 months sober everyone yay K bye
Hope you feel better. Maybe break out the 1st tradition on them the the next time. Personal recovery depends on AA unity. Without each other we will surely die.
I see you must be from NE Ohio. I'm from the Macedonia/Bedford Oh area. Nobody outside of there would probably know what a "lead" or a "lead" meeting is.

A Lead is the "speaker" who tells their story at meeting. Lead meeting = speaker meeting. I've only heard this term in the Akron Cleve area, but people from there don't realize it isn't univeral until they leave. :)

Oh wow so they dont call it lead meetings? Interesting i never knew that im from the cleveland area yes...We have Lead meeting where a person tells there story (speaker) we also have discussion meetings where someone from the homegroup, picks a topic and everyone discussed that topic go around the room and also there are big book studys..
