Anyone try online meetings?

I'd be careful to be looking for a substitute for f-2-f meetings ... Tasha's right, it's too easy to go back to isolating in a situation like that ...

Stop looking for the easy way out ... it don't exist ... just go to your 90 in 90 ... it's a good thing that it will take some effort on your part ... I went to any length to get my booze, so I had to learn to go to any length to get my sobriety ...

P.S.   I was a very sick puppy, I went to 700 in 700 .... before I really felt comfortable ... just say'n ... go to any length ...

I know face to face is best but for some times when you need a meeting but cant get out theres some great ones at intherooms, they have video chat and a chair person and everything, just tried one and it left me with the same great feeling as a face to face., Of course I know face to face is better and am going to the nooner tomorrow but just wondering if any others have tried them...   Day 2 going strong, took the family out to some local professional wrestling tv tapings this morning, got back and hit up the meeting earlier online..

I stick to F2F meetings because I need to not isolate.

I have not tried online meetings, either. I prefer face to face meetings for many reasons, the main one being to not isolate and to help me get out of my shell. Congrats on day 2:)

Thanks, again F2F is by far better but if you cant get to one it seems to be the best alternative, especially with video chat..

Me too. I also think the fresh air and the actually getting myself to a meeting do a lot of good on top of the actual meeting itself.

Thanks everyone, I live in a very rural area with 3 autistic kids, just saying I guess an "online meeting" is better than nothing but you are all right, back to my F2F meeting tomorrow at noon :)

Awesome, Steve! I like nooners. They set the tone for the afternoon.

What's up with the 'nooners' ??? ... I went to a nooner today too ... it's been a while for me for that particular meeting ... usually there are about 15 to 18 there, today 50+ ... Blew me away!!! ... ... ... our p.m. meetings have increased too, but not like this one ... WOW ... it was great to see all the new faces ... took a while to make it around the room shake'n hands and hugg'n the regulars ... Loved it!

I, too, am a fan of the Nooners! My old work schedule would only allow 1 or 2 a week.. But now I can hit one everyday. The one I go to has a good mix of different demographics and ages.. But I love the old timers who are now retired that attend every day- they don't let you get away with any b.s.- and man, they have some great stories.

Nah, online meetings are better than better than nothing. Sometimes they are essential.

Glad you're back on the forum, SS. Happy 83 days.

They're not just for people who cannot make it to a F2F because of obligations or transportation, etc.

Just to let you know, last week John re-started the online meetings here on this forum. Tuesday and Saturday nights at 9PM, EST.
