A slight miscommunication

As I mentioned I've been a bit of a grumpy bastard the last few days and my wife has been extremely patient and understanding. I feel a great deal of gratitude and love for her and so about half an hour ago when I went to kiss her goodnight I whispered in her ear "I know that I've been impossible but I didn't drink today and that's all that matters right?" She looked at me and her eyebrows did that angry dance I make them do and she said "You didn't drink today? Does that mean that you drank yesterday?" I realized how that must have sounded to someone not accustomed to AA speak and philosophy and I just burst out laughing right in her ear. She didn't see the humour in it :)

HA, SMcH. Right after my last messy drunk my husband asked me what I was planning on doing about my drinking. I said 'I'm not drinking today' and he got all pissy, like 'you're only quitting for a day?! That's not going to solve anything'.

I've been with my wife 19.5 years, she didn't have to endure any of my drinking history. For that, I'm very grateful

Not drinking today is my number one priority - however - lots of other stuff matters : )

Buy her a box of chocolates (Godiva) and see if it matters...

My wife of 28 years was a big part of my  final surrender, she only endured the last few years of my active insanity.Unfortunately my first two wives took it as long as they could, decades!!

Normies sometimes even these days don't understand some of our relationships and for the 25 years I spent out on the tiles im sure im missed a big part of their inner workings, thats where I leave it to my Higher Power and some daily work to remain teachable and aware.Keep working Happy.smile..WE also remember ".Page 19, paragraph 1: "The elimination of drinking is but a beginning. A much more important demonstration of our principles lies before us in our respective homes, occupations and affairs...Have a blessed and productive daysmile
