At the root of every gray hair, there is a dead brain cell.

Someone had to remind me,
So I'm reminding
 you, too.
Don't laugh....
 It is all true!

Perks of reaching 50

Or being over 60

And heading towards

70 or beyond!

1.

Kidnappers are not very

Interested in you.

2.

In a hostage situation,
You are likely to be released first.

3.

No one expects you to run --
Anywhere.

4.

People call at 9 PM (or 9 AM) and ask,

'Did I wake you?'

5.

People no longer view you as a

Hypochondriac.

6.

There is nothing left

To learn the hard way.

7.

Things you buy now

Won't wear out.

8.

You can eat

Supper at 4 PM.

9..

You can live without sex

But not your glasses.

10.

You get into heated arguments

About pension plans.

11.

You no longer think of speed limits

As a challenge.

12.

You quit trying to hold
Your stomach in no matter who walks

Into the room.

13.

You sing along

With elevator music.

14.

Your eyes won't get

Much worse.

15
.

Your investment in health insurance

Is finally beginning to pay off.

16.

Your joints are more accurate meteorologists

Than the national weather service.

17.

Your secrets are safe with your friends

Because they can't remember them either.

18.

Your supply of brain cells is finally down to manageable size.

19.

You can't remember

Who sent you this list.

And you notice these are all

In big print

For your convenience.

Forward this to everyone

You can remember

Right now!

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING:

Never, NEVER, NEVER
 ,
Under any circumstances,

Take a sleeping pill, and a laxative on

The same night!

"Good friends are like stars...You don't always see them, but you know they are always there."

Having been born in 1943 that makes me now 70..39 years of continuous sobriety has kept me fit.".I rather have white hair and feel young...than black hair and feel old."..Some how it seems to be more attractive to the young ladies.. at least that's what I discovered in Tahiti.. (LOL).The Fr. Polynesian women are marvelous..I do not wear glasses..nor take any form of medication.. and eat anything..still do 25 push ups in the morning off my foredeck....100 stomach crunches for flat abs..swim a half a mile off my boat every day..and have a job...professional screen writer and yacht designer with considerable amount of formal education in these respective fields plying my trade in my AC office in Pago Plaza..sailed 8000 miles in 2012... 1300 of those miles under limited command, taking me 33 days alone at sea.. from Tahiti to Samoa but made it unaided but for the Grace of God..3 nights of sleep..2 advil and some junk food..restored good as new..

Sobriety is a program of action, not words or cleaver stereotypes..but I did think it was funny...Non applies to this sailor. "Get off the couch and get into action"..use the steps....join me on Facebook Tomas Sailor for some "Sweet and Sour" tropical eye candy.."I love to say that now because I found that statement so tacky and irritating.."If you can't beat them join them..(LOL)....As an Old timer..'if I make it to 40 years.. one more..then I become a precious antique to AA..don't get me wrong..There is no ego associated with me.. but do like to be childish at times and a good sense of humor...'Keeps the heart ticking"..It's just showing the sobriety youth the gifts that I have received as a result of sobriety..don't tell em what's it all about..if you got the opportunity show em...That's my order of the day after prayer and meditation from my HP.

Have fun in sobriety

Thanks Buddy...the trick to staying young I've discovered is never give up chasing young women...but when you are catching up..slow down and let them get away..(LOL)...Just like fishing... intend to Catch and Release. In between you have a marvelous time
