My wife is an alcoholic. I have been mean, critical, judging and controling through our life dealing with her addiction. We are just now getting OUR communication skills back. What you all share keeps me grounded in that while she really can't share with me what she is dealing with every single day, I get a glimpse of her struggles and I can connect. This gives me the ability to step aside and let her do her program and me mine without the constant harassment of how she is doing. Giving me a glimpse of her struggles with out smothering her is real important for me to be able to detach and let it work for her. Thank you all for your shares and support to eachother.

Wonderful to hear this Rusty. I think with all you've been through and are going through, you owe it to yourself to focus on you and take care of just you for a while. I think that's the most respectful and admirable thing we can show someone - anyone - especially ourselves...and like Dean said, I'm so glad to hear this from you : ) Keep coming back!
