"When life presents us with a racking conflict ... we cannot be altogether blamed if we are confused. In fact, our very first responsibility is to admit that we are confused."
When I saw this this morning, I was reminded of what my old sponsor said one time: I told him I do not understand! He said THAT'S IT, and don't you ever forget it! and he went on to say, there are two things you must remember for the rest of your days: 'No matter what's happening in your life today, you do not understand' ... ... ... 'and no matter what's going on in your life right now, it's not her, it's not him, it's not them, it's not God, it's you that must change and become different than you have ever been before' ... ... ...
Took me forever to figure out just what he was trying to teach me ... and my world changed when that happened ...
God Bless, Pappy

"sometimes we don't get what we deserve, sometimes we don't deserve what we get, but We always Get WHAT we get." A great acceptance cliche for not understanding what life serves up.
Thanks Guys. I read this one this morning also. Kinda reminds me of honesty and humility. I don't need to know everything today. It's o.k. to say I Don't Know. I don't Understand. Kinda takes me off the self imposed meat hook. I thought I always had to know why? Part of my dilemma. Reminds me of my Sponsor who tells me: Acceptance doesn't mean approval. In fact; we may not even understand. That's o.k. Acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. Hard at times to administer.
