Hi, I just got out of jail 9 days ago for a DUI and I am in desperate for a sponsor. I asked someone to be my sponsor when I first came home, they said yes and I called and called and they Never called me back. I thought it might helpful if I had a sponsor that had also experienced jail because I am going through some sort of culture shock. Even if you don't please help. I live in the Creeds section of Virginia Beach (past Pungo) and lisence is going to be suspended soon. I am also desperate for a job!!!! I have a BS in biology and an MS in Education which will do me no good at this time as I am sure you know. Please PM me if you can help. Arian
Blessed Be

I'm in Georgia so the only help I can give is over the 'net' ... just ask for others that can help, to PM you (you'll get it) ...
Many of us have been in your same situation, just don't drink and go to meetings and things will work out ... keep coming back here to keep us posted on your progress ... and to get our ESH(experience, strength, and Hope) in return ...
Love Ya and God Bless, Pappy

Welcome to MIP, I hope you keep coming back for online support. My guess is that you will probably not be able to find a sponsor from VA Beach on this site, but hopefully we can get you started in the right direction.
Here is the link to your local AA central office, http://www.tidewaterintergroup.org/ it looks like they have a 24/7 hotline. You may may want ask to have someone call you and meet you at a meeting of even pick you up.
Looks like there are tons of meeting in VA Beach, when you get to a meeting you might want to introduce yourself and let it be known that you are looking for a temporary sponsor for the first few weeks (you might meet someone who you feel better with later on).
Don't give up asking, go to a lot of meetings, meet a lot of people and good things will happen.
