Care packages for those in the storm.

Well, when it comes to Global warming - sure!  Fine - I live in Wisconsin!  For me Global warming rocks my socks off!  Literally!

But the ugly truth is, even while I'm feeling super-dee-dooper about the possibility of a milder winter again this year, I know others are paying dearly.  The ugly truth is:  Some have died now as a result of Hurricane Sandy, and some are still without power as I write this.  The truth is, I'm contributing to Global warming with my wasteful living style.  Trying not to look at the ugly truth so I can feel okay about all of my conveniences.

Tonight, we will shut off the power (all but the heat) in our house, and live like those who are affected by Sandy.  As an experiment for the kids to know what could lie ahead for more people if we do not think of others in everything we do.  There are a lot of us here on Earth, and we're all here together.  We're a team, and I'd like to begin to act like it.

AA has taught me that... so I am grateful today, that I am an alcoholic in recovery.  I'm so grateful for what this program has given me, and I'm especially appreciative of the things I got to keep... my family.  The rest is just stuff... and if you need "stuff" right now and have been affected by the storm... we have more than we need.  We have care packages ready to send out.  Please PM your address, or someone you know who could use one.

Love to all,

Tasha

I have a friend named Sandy who said the other day, "I love this. All I have to do is turn on the TV and it's all about ME, ME, MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!"

Hope you had fun with the kids.
