One Choice
One...
One tree can start a forest,
One smile can begin a friendship,
One hand can lift a soul,
One word can frame the goal,
One candle can wipe out darkness,
One laugh can conquer gloom,
One hope can raise our spirits,

And...one choice can change your life.

Think about that. One choice, just one, can change your life forever. Simply put, your life today is what your choices have made it, but with new choices, you can change directions this very moment.

I believe literature states "We stood at a turning point..." My meeting today was about pivitol events/happenings that cause us to choose sobriety. One meeting...one post on MIP...one sponsor, one step....it all led to more. Why me? How did I get this gift? I don't know. I suspect my HP has something to do with it. Grateful this sunday.

There's at least one choice that I don't have in this life.

*I,* Steve, have no choice as to whether I drink. I'm an alcoholic.

BUT I today have a choice as to whether I thoroughly follow this AA path. If I choose to do so, I won't drink.

Pretty great.

Steve

There are choices we all have to make today and I think we all know what they are. For me it is, "Am I going to quit smoking today?" and, "Am I going to stop isolating and go to those places where the nice people are?"

God shut doors on people and places He did not want me to be for now anyway, and it's up to me to open the new doors now and invite in good people who are a reflection of my True Self.

Also, I'm tired today and am the speaker on the Fear section of Step 4 tonight. I have to be gentle with myself today physically and emotionally and spend time with God so I can transmit His message of love, patience and tolerance.

Thanks Pappy.
