Gratitude for a 6 yr old : )

My son teaches me more than I teach him... well, both my kids actually.  They give me CONSTANT growth opportunities.  CONSTANT much needed practice at patience and tolerance. wink They are so generously themselves, so different from me, but so very the same when I look at the person I was meant to be... the person my HP created.

I have to remind myself that I was made just how I was suppose to be made.  They were too.  We all were, and we are all in this together.  We were never meant to work against each other.  We were not made to buck heads ALL the time.  It doesn't HAVE to be that way... the way it's been for me.

It can change.  And it is thanks to my HP and the spiritual awakening as a result of the 12 steps.

I keep the 3rd and 7th step prayers close to me.  I keep the lists I made early on of what God is, and isn't.  I need to remember what I'm working with.  I still forget.

Tonight my son got a heavy dose of AA lingo.  It was a okay actually... and I was grateful for the things I've learned.  I was appreciative toward how it can apply to anything, everything and anyone.  Tonight, for once, I had something to teach him, and he said thank you, and so did I.

It's a simple program... even my 6 yr old digs it.  I dig it.  It's changed my life.

P.S.  That just reminded me of something.  When I met my husband 8 yrs ago, it was online.  He had a little saying on his profile headline: "life is a garden... you have to dig it".

Maybe I did love him at hello ; )

Nice. Thanks Tasia.

I met my wife 15 years ago before the internet dating scene.....I always wanted to experience it, not really to date but just see what it was like LOL.

Great. Its really appreciable that You agree the children teach You and know a lot than we elders do. Often I have seen people neglecting this fact just because they are elders with years of experience.
