Congrats on 60 days!!! That's a long time for an alcoholic to go without a drink. I'm guessing the whole student barking like a dog thing means maybe you're working with special needs kids??? Not such an uncommon type of thing in their world. (((hugs))) Oh, and I hope your finger heals quickly.

I have 60 days today! I had the crazyiest day ever and I did not want a drink. Angry parent, sobbing teenager, cut my finger REALY bad, broke up a cat fight, student barking in class and a not so perfect rehearsal and I didn't want a drink. 60 days sober feels really good

I think there's an invisible principle of living...if we believe we're guided through every step of our lives, we are. Its a lovely sight, watching it work.
Congrats Mich! Keep it up! I hope you are getting to meetings and finding a sponsor too. It's just insurance to have a good sobriety foundation for when things are no so challenging in your life. Most folks will tell you that relapse is more likely when your life is calmer and you start thinking "I got this."
I do still go to meetings and call my sponsor and try and work the steps in my life, but I honestly feel like a HUGE part of my sobriety is just drawing from the massive amount of work I did in my first year sober. Now is the time to be hitting meetings and working the steps hard because this foundation needs to last you.

Thanks all. Yes I am going to meetings every weekend. 2 saturday one sunday and all days off. My sponsor is awesome. She is very helpful and supportive.
About the barking, not a special needs kid, but I teach them also. Ironically, they are the ones who seem to know barking is inappropriate in class.
About the cat fight. Two girls. One with a black eye now. The other with some cuts. Both in lots of pain today I am sure.
Congrats Mich, working on my 60 days right now, and yeah, what life can bring ya when your trying to stop drinking, but It does feel good to be able to handle things when your Sober, keep up the good work!
