When all else is lost, the future still remains.
--Christian Bovee

Ours is a program of hope. We sit in meetings and give each other hope. For no matter how long we have been sober - five days or thirty years - there will be times when we feel horrible. This is life. In everyone's life there are times of wonderful joy, but also times of incredible pain.

If we act from our values and the spiritual principles given to us by our Higher Power, pain will be transformed into growth and new understanding. Pain is transitory and softens with time.

These are the lessons of recovery. Bad times can be transformed into growth and joy.

Prayer for the Day

Higher Power, I give You my pain and I ask You to show me the lessons I'm to learn. I ask for Your help in holding on to hope. Help me to never forget that You and others are with me.

Hey Pappy ,blessings of this day!

As I put on my armor for the day I read'(parphrased) Do not be anxious in anything, but in all things, through prayer and supplication, bring your petitions before God(of your own understanding)with thanksgiving and feel that peace that 'SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING" come over your heart through Gods grace and mercy. My HOPE is contstantly renewed,a daily reprieve based on my fit spiritual condition.Pain shared is pain lessened, thats what WE do through God and others! Thanks for follow up to my daily office of prayer.Have a blessed and productive day smile

Oh, pappy... Once again exactly what I needed to hear:) I don't know why I had this naive idea that once I stopped drinking I would become this saintly, serene being who has perfect perspective at all times. Today at work, I once again proved that this is not , in fact, the case haha. Whatever... Life's a learning process, and sobriety is worth all the little trials along the way:) also, does anyone else have mental images of what people look like after reading their posts?? You're new avatar is pretty darn close to what I had imagined you looking like! Weird
