Meetings, 12 steps, sponsor, fellowship, service dont keep me sober. They keep me aware of the presence of a God which keeps me sober. Give the credit where credit is due :)

Alcoholics Anonymous did not stop me from drinking.

It destroyed my pride of self sufficiency, which enabled me to have a relationship with God.

He then removed this obsession to drink alcohol and restore me to sanity.

AA's objective is to enable us to find God, through the 12 steps of recovery.smile

Agreed. Well said. Meetings, steps, sponsorship, fellowship, service are all fabulous, but they dont keep me sober. What they do is keep my aware of the presence of a God who keeps me sober. God bless!

Having had a Spiritual awakening as the result of these steps ...

This is the promise of the 12 steps - it all leads to the spiritual awakening which is the only thing that keeps us clean
