Hope you start feeling better soon. I drink about 3 "Airborne"(or generic version) solutions a day when I don't feel well. It really makes me feel better and speeds recovery.

I hate not feeling 100% today, even if it's just lack of sleep. Hard to believe I used to spend most of my time tired, sick and hung-over evileye

Really strange to be sick for the first time since getting sober.  I'm not used to being sick ALL THE TIME anymore, so it kind of hit me hard.  Really nothing more than some fever and chills - upper resp. flu/cold, but boy it sure reminded me of all the mornings I was sick and feeling hot/cold clammy sweatin out the booze.  Gross.  What I gross blob this disease created.

Even when I was sick before, I drank.  Now I can't imagine how I ever did that.

So, I'm feeling really happy that I'm just plain old sick - no real worry that I might die - like when I was comin off a bender.

Thanks for being here : )

Get better Tasha! I know exactly what you mean. I spent my life either drinking or 'recovering' from drinking. Every morning would be just pulling myself together enough to get to work. Sweating, clammy, numb +\or tingling limbs, flu like stomach problems, feeling feverish, almost passing out many times... I also dropped a bunch of weight. I've always been on the skinny side... But at the end i was barely 100lbs at 5'8". I was sick every day.. And I thought it was a great idea to work 5 or 6 16 hour days partially in an attempt to deter my drinking haha! Well, that didnt work. I remember thinking " you know, God has blessed me with good health and no handicaps.. And I'm doing this to myself!!! ". How strange to feel tired, or under the weather and know its not caused by booze:) its great! Haha:)

I'll put you on a different part of my prayer list Tasha ... ... ... Get Well Soon ...

I'm, just this morning, feeling better after a week of the 'cold/flu' thing ... My son had it during Dad's funeral a few weeks ago, guess I got it from him ... man, what memories of waking up every morning feeling like 'garbage' ... ... ... Today is a new day and I can finally BREATHE again ... ... ...

ONION ... ... ... and VICK'S Vapor rub ... ... ... I am not kidding about this old time remedy, it helps get rid of the cold/flu quickly ... ... ... Listen ... Cut an onion in half and lay it on the 'night table' next to your bed, cut side up ... and take some Vicks and put it on the bottom of your feet and then put some socks on when you go to bed ... ... ...

The onion draws the heavy concentration of bacteria out of the air as you breath (so you're not constantly re-breathing more bacteria) ... and the Vicks draws the toxins our of your body as you sleep (or try to sleep) ... FOR INSTANCE:

Most people do not realize, that it's NOT the mayonnaise in that picnic potato salad that goes to spoil and causes 'food poisoning', it's the onion in the salad that causes 'food poisoning' ... i.e. the onion concentrates all the bacteria together to make you sick, not the mayo ... ... ... AND Most people do not realize that a lot of our body's toxins come out through the bottom of our feet ... and Vicks helps this process along faster ... ... ... Trust me, it works!!!

Love You and God Bless,
Pappy

P.S.   I've only eaten a little cereal and bananas thru this period ... and my nightly 'ice cream' became nightly 'chicken soup' instead ... causing me to lose 10lbs., yea, but am still weak ... Good Luck!

Hope you feel better soon Tasha!  I don't like to be uncomfortable.  No matter the cause.  No ripples on my pond please.....  Part of my shortcomings and the diesase of Alcoholism.  It's gotten better and continues to get better- One Day At A Time.  I've learned to act the part of being sick.  To me, that meant, listen to my body.  Rest, fluids, relax and recover.   This was hard for me to do.  I use to try fighting/denying the sickness or out run it.  Sound familiar.                This to shall pass. It's temporary.  Hang in there.  smile
