If I only learned one thing in my time spent here on this site, it's this:
Pappy's Rule #1 ... ... ... In this program, a lot of people come in, get you to love them and then they leave ... some don't make it back, they die sometimes, and you may never know ... it's sad, but it's the truth ... ... ... Pappy's Rule #2 ... ... ... Sober AA's CANNOT CHANGE Rule #1 .... think about it ...
God Bless, Pappy

In my opinion the spirit of Alcoholics Anonymous is a spirit of love, compassion, tolerance, and understanding. Our first tradition states - Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon A.A. unity.
I have read on our board posts that are contrary to the beliefs of AA.It bothers me that new people to this site may read some of the negative comments and think that this isnt the place for them. Our board needs to be inviting to all.We are to put principles before personalities. This can be read different ways. As I write this I am looking at it as putting our AA principles before assessing others personalities. If there are differences of opinion on this board state your opinion but lets keep the board clean of negative interactions use the PM feature to air grievances.
If we can keep this in mind then we are putting our common welfare first and we will have unity rather than dissention.
Thanks Dan, it needed to be said - thanks for your bravery. I was feeling a little like a tiny marshmellow - thanks for letting me stick to you tonight : ) Hehe = oh my - I'm tired, I need to go to bed!!!!
Good night and God bless (first time I ever wrote that) ((bravely))

Thanks Dan, the principal of attraction isn't going to happen if our threads contain ridicule and back biting. This is a family here on this board. It's the family that I never had.

Thank you for this post. It reflects my opinion on this topic as well. The negativity won't drive away just the newcomers.

I feel personally responsible for some of that negativity. Arguing with other recovering folks is like having a war with yourself anyhow. We are all on the same team... I'm working on it... Also on the fact that there's so much I don't know.
