This weekend, I thought I was gonna be in a sea of uncomfortability. 13 year old girl posessive of her uncle (my fiancée), a whole day spent with a guy who used to give me the creeps, and this guys piece of tail-- if the pity pot had a face, it would be hers.
But you know what? That 13 year old was incredibly more interested in giving me rainbow finger and toe nails. That dude was infinitely less creepy, and made an effort to have intellectually stimulating conversations with me. And that pity pot woman, she faded into the background.
And you know what? My fiancée, his niece and I took a ride in a helicopter. A freaking helicopter!!! You can't honestly say that when we were drunk we would have any interest in spending money on such a luxury, we were too busy spending it on our liquid Linus (the blue blanket from the peanuts gang).
It's only been 10 days. Pink cloud or not, my life has become unfathomably more interesting and adventure based since getting (and staying) sober.
Thanks MIP... without your gentle nudge and overwhelming encouragement I'd have never made it to an AA meeting.
PS: a H E L I C O P T E R!!

The air baloon festval in north jersey, 45$ per person. We were short on money to get her niece on the ride, so his friend paid for her ticket on the helicopter... They had ww2 planes you could fly in... Incredible. Everyone should have the opportunity.
I hope the woman who posted "manage socially" sees this. I can't believe I only have 10 days and my life has changed SO much.
