StPeteDean gave directions, or maybe it was John F, as to how to get in and participate ... if I can find that post, I'll repost it ...
I looked at my clock when I opened this to see if I had any time left to go there and it was 10p.m. on the nose, so I missed it ... my problem is that I just plain ole don't think about it unless someone reminds me ...

Getting into Chatroom (Problem Solving) Reply Quote
Hi everyone, the reason many are not able to get into the chat room for meetings is limited to 2 reasons for the most part.
#1. Need to update/download Java software from http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp so you computer is running the most current version.
#2. When the chatroom is loading on our site entrance at http://www.12stepforums.net/chatroom1.html a popup box will appear. Many assume it is asking if you want to load something and again assuming they must want to load it for the chat room to load they click "YES". However, it is not asking if you want to load something, its asking if you want to BLOCK the java from running, which is what opens and operates the room. The answer should always be NO. YOU DO NOT WANT TO BLOCK YOUR COMPUTER FROM RUNNING THE JAVA SOFTWARE.
Java is a main stay in the computer program industry. Over 3 billion applications use it. It is not only safe, its a must have if you are going to fully enjoy what the internet has to offer, as many sites run java based elements that make them interactive and organized.
So... go get the most current version from the link at #1, and then when you try to load the chatrom page at the #2 link, and you see a popup appear, select NO. You do not want to block the site from using your java software.
Hope this helps many of you get into the room that have been having difficulty and we'll see many more of you appear in the meetings.
The more of you that get access to the room and want to hold meetings in it the more likely it will happen and the sooner you do this, the sooner the group can do that. :)
Thanks,
John

okay, yes, I did do the process of java - and that was the problem, but still not sure if I have it resolved, Zach will help me next week, he's at a tractor pull tonight. thank you so much pappy for the help, and angel for the invite : )

Welcome to MIP, vickimax. You found another branch of your extended AA family here.
Feel free to post your comments or questions on any subject anytime. You can start your own discussion thread, too.
The chat room is open all the time. Any time 2 or more people go in there it's working
Welcome to the site vikimax71678...Glad to have you with us. As far as the chat room goes...I don't see why we can't have a meeting any time someone posts they want to have one. I've only been to one on here...There were four of us and it was pretty good. Would never replace my face to face meetings....But nothing wrong with getting some recovering alkies together. Thanks Dean.
