Well, been here before but fell off the wagon. I admit to making mistakes, but my drinking is literally ruining my life. It makes me unhappy, and I come off as an angry person, and I have ruined relationships. I harrassed my boyfriend when he broke up with me. I was drunk and kept calling him. Now I don't think he will ever want to talk to me again. But I need to fix myself. I hope one day he can forgive me.
Welcome back....I know all about alcohol ruining your life...My drinking was the common denominator in every failed relationship I was in.....Including my marriage. As far as needing to fix yourself goes....I needed to do that for way too many years....It wasn't till I wanted to do it...That I could make it work. There is a solution...And people here that know what it is. Glad you're back!

this is a really good attitude to have if your coming back. I know the stress of some relationships I've had needed to be dropped so that I could focus on me. Your sobriety and well being should be your top priority, and it sounds like your ready to start that. Good luck and keep us updated.

Hey Mark, ... ... you need to get with Ruhig so she can teach you basic math ... LOL ...
Sorry VividAngel ... ... ... The quicker you learn that it is not possible to FIX yourself, the quicker we can start teaching you the process we used to recover ... ... ...
This program is a WE program, and that is only one of the reasons it's soooo important to go to meetings ... also to get a sponsor so they can guide you ... most of us tried the "Physician, Heal Thyself" syndrome ... didn't work ...
Stick around this time, maybe take a little advice along the way, and see what incredible results you can find here ... It just may surprise you ... just don't be afraid of change, cause there's a little of that in your future, ... whether you want that or not ... But, together, we can make it a 'positive' change ...
Welcome back and God Bless,
Pappy

I think there's an invisible principle of living...if we believe we're guided through every step of our lives, we are. Its a lovely sight, watching it work.
Welcome back. Have you tried going to any meetings? There are young persons meetings out there, but all meetings are generally a great place to start. I'm just guessing that you are 19 based on your name... I could be wrong. It's a struggle to know that you are an alcholic at such a young age but I have seen it done before. Keep coming back!

I'm 29, no, I haven't been to a meeting yet. I kept lying to myself that I wasn't an alcoholic, and that I didn't have a problem. But I keep ruining relationships cause of my drinking. I'm going to be looking at a meeting today.
welcome!! glad you are here. find a meeting, then another, and another, and don't drink in between. we will be here for you. keep coming back! big hugs, sheila
Good for you for trying a meeting....Try and look for similarities there...Identify with what you hear...Rather than compare. Relax and listen....It's not a bad idea to go 15 minutes early...You can introduce yourself to some people and say you are new....You'll meet some great people and have someone you can go into the meeting with...Enjoy it!
LOL yeah...basic math - born in 83 means 29....omg I am so old. It was just denial on my part. That is still young and you might benefit from young persons meetings. However, gettng to a meeting is crucial. The hardest thing for me was just getting to the first one...after that, I just did what they told me to.
