The South African AA National Convention 1993, April, held in Durban. We had Clancy I, sharing. I was 5 years sober then. I got the message of the disease concept from him.
Yeah Clancy has a good way of transmitting what we have. We almost get an overdose of him here in Nebraska as he has strong sponsorship ties with the oganizers of the convention. He typically speaks every year at the Cornhusker Roundup which is next month.
I've never had the pleasure of going to any of those, but I go to the semi-annual soberfest in Philly. When they say in the big book about all walks of life and how alcoholism is indescriminatory, that's when it hit me. And that's how I refresh my "I can/do belong/qualify for this program"
My local group was also trying to set up a "soberstock" every 4th of July... A sober version of Woodstock for those of you old enough to have gone.

I've never been to a roundup. I did go to an International Covention in 1980 at New Orleans. Not only was it a blast, but got to hear Dr. Bob's son, Marty Mann and Lois Wilson talk..
