Wild Journey, But I wouldn't want to miss this ride!

Hello Fellow Travellers!

I just want to simply say thank you to everyone who has really been the driving force behind this board staying active over the past few years, and the strength it shows in it's membership.  Tonight, I have read so many post here of people in various states of pain, hopelessness, fear and despair, and the replies from many that brought a full light of hope, understanding, compassion, and love to the sufferer, in such a way that I feel my words would be futile.  I cannot improve what I have been seeing here as excellence in carrying the message of Alcoholics Anonymous.  I could not be prouder of this board and the people on it then I am as I sit here tonight.  I am in awe, amazed and humbled by the demonstration of happy, joyous and free that is displayed here.  Without a doubt, it is very attractive to any one who stumbles upon this board.  While reading one post, a lump appeared in my throat, and while reading the next, a smile lit up my face.  I see people who have been here for years, and people that have just been here for a few days.  I see young, and old, male and female, a wide variety of nationalities, races, religious ideaologies, relational and social dynamics... but when we gather here, all the differences get washed out, and we join in the commonality of recovery from alcoholism in such a unified way...

That the man or woman venturing to us tonight, will know they have found their place, a safe haven that they can call home.

Again, I want to thank all of you who post and reply to post frequently, and consistantly and I want to welcome all the newer members that have recently joined us on this journey and I truly hope you'll stick around here with us as you grow, learn, and move forward, and share your experience, strength and hope with the newer person coming here behind you.

All of you have lit the candle in my heart tonight....

Thank you.

What a great share, John. We owe you a debt of gratitude also for this wonderful forum called "MIP". I happened across "MIP" in 2010 and by the grace of God I'm still here. This forum has touched countless lives including my own, so it would only be fitting for me to say...thank you. Thank you for all you've done and continue to do many years later. You doing great service here on MIP, so keep inspiring us, everyone. Thanks again, my friend; this forum has been a blessing from the very beginning.

~God Bless~

I actually went to the very first post here yesterday to see how all this started, number 300 and something, when you were testing out the new message board back in 2004.  Ironic.

I echo Mr. David's comment above!

Thanks for your post John, ...

I'm not really sure how I came across MIP either, I just feel it must have been 'Divine Intervention' ... This is such a great 'platform' to share E.S., & H. ... A great place to both Give and Receive ... I love it John and I love the people on it ...

God Bless,
Pappy

Yes - it may be that this MIP page saved my life. I was here the first moment I conceded that I am an alcoholic and going to try AA. Thank YOU!
