Hi all,

am not in a good space right now, a dear member of my group has died in a tragic accident. Can not get to a meeting until tomorrow and busied myself with housework for a while but am finding it tough.

I'm so sorry for the loss dear. It's so tragic when dealing with the loss of anyone, not just a friend. I just hope you get to a meeting soon. It's tough dealing with grief, especially if you're close. So I'll pray for you maire, for as long as it takes.

Hi Maire rue, ... ...

Sorry for your loss ... ... I too, recently lost a dear friend from our group here ... ... He had fought and beat cancer for a few years then it returned and took him ... He was a very strong atheist turned agnostic then through working this program became a devoted christian ... I watched as he morphed from a God cursing guy coming in to a spiritual being who could not impress upon others enough, the importance of a 'relationship' with God ... God rest your soul ... Ronald McAlister ... we miss you ...

He requested to be cremated and we just had a simple memorial for him ... The place was overflowing ... he was greatly loved ... and it really showed the 'family we become' when we stay in the program ...

Pappy

Sorry to hear that. A friend of mine passing was what made me "surrender" to this program.

It saddens me every time I hear of the death of a member in recovery.

Maire - You brought yourself here in lieu of a physical meeting yesterday, good for you. I hope you got some rest.

Pappy - Thank you for sharing that story about your friend, Ronald McAlister, and his incredible spiritual journey and testimony. The story touched my heart.

Dean - I know your friend still remains in your heart. I heard someone once share..."sometimes someone must die so that others can live".

So sorry to hear that. I had a friend die almost a year ago from my home group so I know how bad it can hurt. I took her death rather hard she was a big inspiration to me. Hang in there.
