Anyone else have a problem with picking up the 1,000 pound phone?  Why is it so difficult to make calls on a consistent basis to stay in the middle of the fellowship?  I do have a Sponsor and call him on a regular basis but probably could do better.

The good thing is I do pick it up when my *ss is on fire.  But, it's difficult to make calls when everything is going well.  I'm not a phone person to begin with.  My default setting is to make calls when needed....  No call just for chit.. chat biggrinbiggrinbiggrin   I just find it hard to call and say everything is good, uneventful day, feel spiritual fit etc.........  Sounds easy, but not when it's not your default setting....

Others?

Actually, I only like to make calls if myself and the other person are having a good day. I feel that alot of my peers have nothing to talk about but negativity. Also, if I only recieve phone calls when someones in trouble, I eventually stop picking up. Not the best on my part, but I'd like to be told good things so I can remind them of good things later.

As an alcoholic, I tend to always focus on the negative, so I like to surround myself with people who are 60% happy and 40% or less negative.

Ah yes the phone. I always tell my guys to call me before they take a drink. because if they wait too long, they might take a drink and if they do wait until after they take a drink all they'll hear is a click and a dial tone. In today's age of technology I have no excuse. Facebook, twitter, skype, phone calls, texts, emails and that ancient invention, the doorbell. yep. no excuse.

in fact, in the time it took me to post this, I had time to call.

:)

Yeah, I hear you Mike. I'm not so good at calling either, same as you. Between the construction zone and my current workload, I haven't had time to call anyone. My sponsor still advocates 3 meetings per week, even though my meetings are slacking a bit. He also suggests calling him at least once a week, even though its been 3 weeks now. But I'm still sober, though. I guess this forum has been my only alternative, so I'll keep on posting. It's a good topic though, thanks.
