Wow, that was quite the adventure Angell. I guess miracles do come in small doses, even in the midst of some undesirable circumstances. Well, at least you have tomorrow -if that's any consolation. It can't be any worse than today, can it? That was a rhetorical question by the way. Enjoy yourself anyway, okay.

I woke up this morning after a couple of fourteen hour work days and had to borrow my uncles truck so my wife and I could go to the junkyard two hours away and get some parts for her car after it was stampeded by a herd of wild horses.

Today was very hot compared to what it has been around here and it turns out my uncles pick-up's heater is stuck on full blast.  Four hours in the car with the heater on full in the dead of summer...

We also went to look at a home that we want to rent but when we arrived, the person still hadn't moved out with her pit bulls and so looking at the house on the inside was out of the question...

We got to the junkyard soon thereafter and trying to remove the hood, something slipped and my hand was split open.  We rushed back to the truck to drive to the hospital but the truck wouldn't start...

Finally got there - still no truck, many stitches later my hand is back in one piece, then back to the junkyard to try and get the truck running so that we can make the drive home without any of the parts we came for on my one day off when the junkyard is open for a while...

Today

I have an uncle that doesn't hesitate to let me use his truck.

The lasy who failed to move out on time walked us around the property and though we weren't able to see the inside, we were able to work out a time that is convenient for all.

The manager at the junkyard had one of his employees take me and my wife to the emergency room AND came back and picked us up afterwards AND paid the bill AND pulled the part off of the car for us AND fixed our uncles pickup.

My hand will be fine, and will make a full recovery.

I got to spend all day with my wife...and that's always a good day.

AND I got to do it sober.

Yep, good day.

Yet another miracle given to us by the program. Thank you.

If nothing else that certainly makes for an interesting day.

Glad you are here.

The lesson I've learned from reading this is: Each story is the same just different in the way it's told. I need to work on being loving, receptive, non-judgmental & kind no matter how the story is told.
