Okay Pappy, you're mocking me with the ice cream again, aren't you? And Tasha with her perfect Mashed potato recipe; I mean, what's up with that? Then for good measure you added some spaghetti sauce, chili and beef stew into the mix. Thats just great, now my waistline increased another 2 inches. So what's for desert Pappy, a huge slice of humble pie? Thanks but no thanks; I have a hard time seeing my toes anyway without you people. Thank God there's no such thing as "smell-a-vision" or I'd really be in trouble. You people don't play fair, so I guess it's another turn at the ice cream machine again. Oh, great, now see what you did. Ugh...

I realized as I was making my potatoes oooooooooooooooo so creamy, with just the right blend of garlic, herbs from the garden, cream & butter from local cows, chicken stock from our very own home grown chickens, and sea salt - that I finally got it just right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love mashed potatoes.  Just tell me I have to live on mashed potatoes for the rest of my life - and I'll be happy.

This is the first time I've made them since getting sober almost 3 months ago, and it's the very first time I've ever made them with just the right amount of everything.

I over did everything in my drinking days.  I couldn't even make mashed potatoes because I put way too much of everything I loved in.

Ooooh, I really like salt - I'd way over salt them.

Ooooh, I love cream, so I'd douse them with so much cream they would be runny, or taste like sour cream with a bit of potatoes somewhere mixed in.

I was so fricken nuts, that less is more - was just something I could not grasp.  I over did anything that I liked.  Drinking, sex, smoking...

right down to the mashed potatoes.

No more burnt food.  Thanks AA

No more meals of salt and pepper.  Thanks AA

No more opting out of supper in favor of the "after drink"!  Thanks AA!

Great point....The obsessive thinking shows up in a lot of areas of our life. The coupons we can clip in recovery are many, great mashed potatos included!
