Mark 4:39
And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a GREAT CALM.

So anyway, at a time of great stress, I come across this.  Now that is just what I needed from my HP!

What a great quote Tom. God does have his hand on everything, including our trials. And sometimes, all we can do is trust in him. So please do just that, okay. You know what they say in sobriety Tom: "bear the discomfort and the comfort will come". How true.  If God brings you to it, he will also bring you through it. So bare what you can and then wait for his blessing. It will come, eventually. We promise...

As much as I dislike to tie recovery to religion that is a great scripture. Thanks.

Thanks Tom. Ultimately it was always God who brought peace and serenity in my life. The AA book says: "that probably no human power could have relieved my alcoholism."
"...that God could.." God has the capacity to do it. I did not know that God could relieve alcoholism.

" ...and would.." God would do it. I did not know that God would relieve my alcoholism.

It is such a relief to know that God will rebuke the storm in my life [restlessness, irritation, discontentment] and bring calm in my life [ sanity and peace].

Thanks Tom!  I had a similiar God moment last night.  I had a couple days of inner turmoil.  Self will run riot.  My pefectionism got the best of me.  Natural instinct and desires running in excess.  It was my show for awhile.  It didn't come off to well.  wink

I passed a Church on my way home last night and the sign read in part- " faith will carry you through rough seas".  Always has since I obtained a faith and trust in a HP.  Sometimes I need to put God back where he belongs, on top of the priority list.  I was sitting there for awhile.  confuse no  Thank you for the reminder today.

I really needed the GREAT CALM part last night, and I kept it in my mind today through a time of great stress and it upheld me!
