Pat is not feeling very well and he decides to go to a doctor. While he is waiting in the doctor's reception room, a nun comes out of the doctor's office. She looks very ashen, drawn and haggard.
Pat goes into the doctor's office and says to the doctor: "I just saw a nun leaving who looked absolutely terrible. I have never seen a woman look worse."
The doctor says: "I just told her that she is pregnant."
Pat exclaims: "Oh my, is she?"
The doctor responds: "No, but it sure cured her hiccups."

Are you being naughty again Pappy? You should be ashamed of yourself sir. I mean, what about that poor nun? The hiccups might be gone but the question still remains, what were you thinking? Hmmm....Well, we're waiting.

Oh my, ... ... ... This is how it was ... ... in the old days, when a person could not stop the 'hiccups', we simply scared the 'sh_t' out of them and the hiccups would disappear ...
My favorite was to blow up a small paper bag, twist the end, and then 'pop' the bag behind the person with the problem ... ... ... It would stop their hiccups ... BUT, they usually had to go to the bathroom all of a sudden, heehee ...
Actually, another fairly good method to stop the hiccups, is to tell the person to clear their mind, and then ask them to answer, quickly, a very obscure question ... press them to answer quickly ... (this can actually put the brain on "pause" for a moment, and the hiccups will usually disappear ...)
Have fun, Pappy
