Welcome Andrea. I'm so sorry for your loss. My computer is always on, and I walk by it often, usually this page is up and I can be around to chat if you need someone to listen.

Welcome to this site Andrea, ...

I am soooo sorry to hear of the loss of your daughters ... Tragedies like this are a REAL test to our sobriety ... not to mention our sanity ... You will definitely be in my prayers also ...

I just want you to know that when I was two weeks from getting my 1st year chip, my wife and I got a 3 a.m. phone call to inform us that our youngest son had been in an auto accident and was in ICU and unstable ... It's a rather long story, but since our oldest son has been in a 'full care' facility, because he was born with a 'genetics' disorder, we placed all our hopes in our youngest son's success to help us when we got old ... and now, all that's changed ...

Our youngest son did live, but is now quadriplegic and living on disability money ... which doesn't even cover the cost of his meds ... (we have recently found ways of getting assistance for him thru the pharmaceutical companies and other sources, thank the Lord ...) ... We had to buy his house, so that he wouldn't lose it ...

All I am trying to say here, is that we will still have tragedies in our life whether we are sober or not ... being and staying sober allows us to handle these events with responsibility and honor ...

Congratulations on your 3 1/2 months ... that's a great start ... Hang in there, it will only get better from here ...

God Bless,
Pappy

Andrea, I am so sorry for your loss. You are extremely couragesous to share this without having had a drink. You are a walking miracle, there is something deep inside you that wants to stay sober. You are an absolute marvel. Thankyou so much for sharing, you are in my prayers.

Hey Kendra, ...

I think what Tasha is trying to say ... ... ... is that 'just maybe' those ladies intended their numbers to be there for those they could help locally ... I'm sure you realize this web site (MIP) is visited by hundreds, if not thousands of people each week from people from all around the whole world ... and it also is visited by non-AA members and non-alcoholics too ... so we DO HAVE ANONYMITY to be honored ... and the thought of you guys getting calls non-stop at all hours of the day bothers me ... drunks don't have a habit of making calls at normal daytime hours ... much less at whatever time it is in places like Europe or Australia or China, etc. ...

Tasha is right to be concerned with these numbers now being known worldwide ... You might want to ask Dean or John F if it is okay and/or proper to list numbers like that ... they'll know by experience ... and in the mean time, you may just want to do an 'edit' and at least temporarily remove them ... for now anyway ...

Love Ya and God Bless,
Pappy

Hi Andrea - you & your family are in my daily prayers. I am hurting too (not for nearly the same reason though!) and this is a very good place to be, whenever you can. Real good people here ... hopefully you have seen or will return to see how many people care and are thinking about your health and welfare. Please post again when you can. In the meantime, WE are praying and thinking about you. God bless, Lisa.
