Hello everyone, my name is Wendy and Ive been sober for 7 days, I havent gone to a meeting yet, and dont think I will at the moment because Im really nervous and lack confidence.Im so glad Ive found this website.Best wishes to you all.
Congrat's on the 7 days. There is nothing to be nervous about going to meetings. Everyone in there has been where you are or were. Plus you need to find a sponsor that can guide you through the steps. I was always a nervous Nelly when going anywhere but I felt right at home from day one in meetings. GO FOT IT

Awesome glad you showed up here.Continue the journey of "LIFE" a day at a time. Check out website Alcoholics Anonymous and you can read the information pamphlets(under literature) about meetings, what to expect etc.WE can all identify with our first meetings and some of the anxieties we may have felt. But it was nothing like the pain that we were living and there were only a couple options,,continue on to jails, institutions, deriliction or death or seek a "new way to live>>Newcomers are so welcome at meetings,,make a decision and it may well be the best decision of your life.Let us know how its going okay...Peace

Hey, don't deny yourself the pleasure of going to a meeting and discovering that there are other people just like you ... who want nothing more than to help you ... You don't realize this yet, but in going to a meeting, you're actually helping them stay sober today ...
When we were drinking, none of us wound up where we wanted ... and in coming to AA most of us did in fact find new life and finally ended up where we wanted to be ... It's great on this side of the bottle ...
Join us on the happy road through sobriety ...
God Bless, Pappy
