Just throwing this out there. Maybe someone has dealt with this. I am thinking of leasing a GM equinox. But I had my 2nd dui 4 1/2 years ago. The truck I was driving was a lease. I was near the end of the lease but the contract took the truck and I had to pay all the months left on it. I get it...i messed up. Anyways anyone out there have a simular story and lease again after that?? Hope this isnt to off topic for the board. If it is my bad and im sorry. have a great day everyone!
Actually Sis this is great info. I use to be in commercial leasing...and for equipement that was personally operated being clean and sober while doing a leased vehicle/equipment is a requirement. The equipment isn't yours!! When I was in the automobile sales industry you would be able to buy the vehicle and not lease it if an abstract was required and revealed a DUI within a certain period of time. Its good for business...theirs, yours and mine. Don't drink and drive who ever owns the vehicle. I do think you could have defeated them requiring full payment of the lease if they had possession of the vehicle. No matter it's done right?
How do you find out if the DUI will still affect the lease? Ask the lessor...who ever you choose to be the lessor.
Thanks for the reply. Yeah funny how the lessons just keep coming. Been in the program since the last DUI. Found a new life. Got a real license after doing what I was told. Sorta forget about the damage I did 4 1/2 years ago then you go to lease a car and the past comes up. Now the lady I am dealing with doesnt know about the dui. Not sure if i need to tell her my past or wait and see if it will show up when I try to lease a new car. Pretty much have turned it over as I was taught and if I have to pay for my mistake once again by not being able to lease I will be ok with that. Isnt that something how the program once again keeps me going with a better attitude lol. love it!!!
Thank you all for your responses.......I got my Equinox with no problems and actually it made become once again aware of the promises. I am again reminded that living life like you should is part of the solution and with that comes the rewards.....
