My first newbie was am inbox message...well its a newbie to me :} and I am a newbie on here too. haha.
The message was for some help for me to look up on a link that was included that will encourgaed me each day :} How kind AA people are alwasy thinking of others and giving a helpful hand.

Today I attended my first intergroup meeting here our groups here have only just started participating within the European Region. All very different for you all maybe to understand but very important and new for us Ex-pats living here. http://www.aa-europe.net/countries/cyprus.htm I so hope this link works for you all ? Anyway on my return home I received an email and as you can see from this its another newbie for me and what a surprise ! this is what was sent.
I am an AA archivist for my Intergroup. and also on the archives sub committee for the General Service Office at York UK. I notice you are in Cyprus and wonder if your home group is part of an Intergroup. There are only a few Intergroups in Central European Region but also quite a few groups . My remit on the archives sub committee is group histories and the update of the Where To Find for UK and also Europe I would be grateful for any information
So out of the blue I will now collect all information and research on how and when AA came to come here in Cyprus. Wow this is going to keep me busy and I am finding it of great interest. :} All information will be gathered for the York Uk Archives History of European AA.
I know how our little group here started but the history of Cyprus is important too because it is an Island divided by a war 35yrs ago so we have North and South Cyprus and here on the North side our dear friend was here as a loaner for 25yrs until two other joined her 6yrs ago then us two 5yrs ago. We now have some 12-15 each week and three meetings a week :}
But because of the divide and the boarder crossing we have never been involved in the Cyprus intergroup until now working as AA as a whole we have become a part. We have always sent our ''pot dues'' to York UK but it has been difficult never being recognised by the world. But now being part of the Cyprus European Region Intergroup we are now by every '' right involved '' :} and excepted.
This to us in amazing and wonderful. Although some of this might well seem complicated in some way I so hope you understand.
And I so wanted to share this with all my new found friends here today. Its a newbie and a big one too. :}
I thank my God today that I am able to get involved. I am grateful for being sober and for all my help love and support that I have received.
